I was just like you.

I discovered the word “agnostic” several years ago, and I realized that, at the time, the word described my position on spirituality. I refused to believe in anything simply by virtue of faith. I refused to believe in any concept that I could not get my own mind around. (And you know what?… that’s ok. I don’t think any of us are expected to believe in anything blindly.)

Stephen Hawking’s description of the beginnings of the universe are compelling, and the evidence that we have gathered over the last few centuries have led modern scientists to conclude that the universe probably started out as a single point and smaller than an atom. It is a difficult thing to imagine, at best. From there, this single point of matter exploded in a massive burst of heat and energy that quickly came together in the form of atoms that form the elements of our universe today. That is the “Big Bang” theory in a nutshell. It is probably our best theory that we have about the origin of our universe and it is something that I still believe to be the most likely theory.

Money is neither good nor bad; it is energy. It is the way money is used that determines whether or not it is a positive energy that will benefit you and others. If you come from the highest level of integrity with your money, if you make it in ways that benefit people, through shifting their consciousness, or through serving and making a contribution, by giving your best, honoring others, and putting attention and consciousness into what you do, you are making a contribution to humanity and to yourself. When you use money in ways that serve your higher purpose and bring you and others joy, you are creating money of light. Everyone wants to be able to improve their lives in some way: to heal something, to start something new, to find their soul purpose. As long as we are alive, this process continues. Everyone has a next step waiting to be taken, and everyone absolutely everyone has trouble accomplishing it. In fact, we spend an inordinate amount of time making up reasons and excuses for not moving forward. Being stuck can be extremely painful. The desire you have to change a habit or improve your life comes from your soul. When you do not move forward with it, you block the very expression of your soul. We have been taught that to use the law of attraction to create the reality we desire, we must focus more on what we want and less on what we don’t want. But yet there are times when the things we don’t want continue to be created even though we try not to focus on them. The truth is that there are times when we must focus on what we don’t want so that we can attract it out fully and see it for what it is. What we don’t want could be part of what we want and that is why we are still creating it unknowingly. No habit is completely good or bad. There is always a benefit that it can provide and a detriment that it can cause. The mixture of positive and negative aspects is what traps most people in addictions. Focusing on the positive aspects alone does not remove the effect of the negative aspects. Most people use the law of attraction in a way that’s unenlightened, that’s why they keep missing creating their lives.
